This work begins with the process of building texture through repeatedly layering color. The act of accumulating paint goes beyond a purely visual effect, serving as a metaphor for how emotions are gradually gathered, absorbed, and embedded over time.
At first glance, the image appears familiar and deceptively simple. Yet beneath its surface, it conveys the complexity of human emotion visually, without the need for words. Through this work, I seek to express how much layered and multifaceted emotion resides within the small symbols we use so casually in everyday life.
From a distance, the piece reads as a flat, singular image. However, as the viewer moves closer, countless layers of color, traces, and rhythms reveal themselves. This mirrors the emotional narratives that exist behind seemingly simple icons. The work ultimately visualizes the hidden emotional strata within contemporary modes of communication—an inner landscape that is constantly connected, yet not easily deciphered.
